Hey peeps; just another nerd post. I'm going to attempt to explain the cause of, and provide a solution for, a problem I had with my microphone awhile back, where it was picking up the radio and interference.
One of the microphones I frequently use for my music is the MXL 770. It's a consumer level cardioid condenser microphone with an XLR output; really great for home recording on a tight budget. Dollar for dollar it's a huge value. I plug it into my little usb audio interface and make tracks for iTunes or youtube. [...]
As usual, I have another cover song for your enjoyment.... but before I post the link, I have a huge disclaimer.
This song contains explicit lyrics
I chose to do this song for a number of reasons, mostly being that the lyrics have a very deep and dark meaning that just won me over artistically. On the surface, however, many people might find this song too offensive.
If you're offended by extreme cursing or songs about drugs, sex, etc ... you may not want to watch.
Having said that - I think I did an okay job and I'm hoping most of you enjoy it. I know I had a lot of fun not just learning and playing the song, but learning about the artist and watching his original music video as well. It's really great. Check it out. [...]
This week I learned to play a song called "I Was Made For Loving You" by Tori Kelly. The original also featured Ed Sheeran as a sort of duet, but I'm so freaking cool that I just did both parts ... lol.
Hello friends! I had the pleasure of hanging out with Kyle on The Kyle Green Show recently. We talked for a bit, I played some songs, and I majorly lost a game Kyle had us play on the air.
We took a drive down early Saturday afternoon and went into the studio. I plugged in some of my gear and we fumbled around with microphone connections for awhile, until we finally realized the power switch was simply off, haha.
Then we talked and screwed around a bit. I had employed some emotional blackmail to get my mom to come down and help film and wrangle some of my stuff, so naturally this was paid back by teasing her just a little bit. [...]
I've just finished a new cover song video! This week, it's a song called "Stole the Show", by Kygo featuring Parson James. I was inspired by an overseas youtuber's version of this fun song, and had to try my own. I also ramble just a tad after I play music, so watch it all the way to the end if you'd like to laugh at my tragic silliness.
Hey friends! This is just a quick update. I've just posted up my humble attempt at that new song "Don't Look Down", by Martin Garrix / Usher. I found the "Towel Girl" video so endearing that I just had to try covering it. Hopefully I did it at least a small amount of justice. Enjoy!
I think I just had a "Eureka!" moment with Adobe Lightroom. Basically, there's this thing where Lightroom prevents you from using a Catalog over a network, presumably because it's too slow and/or could be destroyed if more than one person accesses it at a time.
Well damn it! I want to use a catalog over the network! It's more convenient, more centralized, more... blah, adobe. Blah. Plus, I'm the only one using my catalog, but I want to be able to use it from more than one computer at different times.
Anyway, it just occurred to me that Lightroom might not be smart enough to detect something called a "Symlink", which is sort of like a shortcut that behaves like it's a normal directory. I tried it ... and Eureka! It works! [...]
My latest cover is out! For this one, I picked a song called "Flashlight" from the new movie "Pitch Perfect 2". It's pretty cute and gooey and stuff, and I loved the way that F-chord sounds on my guitar.
