I've received a few emails from friends and fans that I should write in my blog more. I hate to break this to all of you, but I am an absolutely horrible writer. I have no idea how to tell a good story. And whats worse, my writing style actually matches my speaking style, which means its impossibly hard to follow. Green.
But enough of that. Here's a science fact I've been thinking about today. It basically goes like this. Science has proven, through various tests in acceleration chambers, satellites, and other crap I can't recall at the moment, that the faster an object moves, the slower time passes for it. Meaning, if you were able to move at a very fast velocity, the people around you who are stationary will age much faster than you do. This effect is most noticeable for objects traveling very close to the speed of light. [...]
I've got an acoustic show coming up on Wednesday March 18th, 2009 at the Blue Cafe in Huntington Beach. The Blue Cafe is a cool little bar with a full stage and a very chill atmosphere, almost..... blues-y haha.
Tickets are only $5 to get in, and guess what! I'm going to give some away for freeeeeeee. Think of it as sort of a contest. You take a "Fan Picture", meaning some kind of picture of yourself where you cleverly put my name, picture, or CD somewhere next to you, and email it to me. I'll pick, uhhhmmm... lets say the top 10 pictures, post them on the site, and have the tickets waiting for you at the door under your name. [...]
Has anyone seen the new PETA ad, featuring Khloe Kardashian naked? It might just be me, but when I look at that ad, all I can think about is how much better she looks after being photoshopped than in person.
Isn't this more a statement against female self-esteem, than a statement against animal cruelty?
PS: I just heard a quick interview of her saying she wants to embrace her curves. Uhm... Khloe... again, I don't think those are your curves. [...]
Hello friends, fans, and random strangers. I'm looking for a singer to gig with!
Are you a singer in the Orange-County-California area, or know someone who is? I'm currently looking for a singer to accompany me, to provide backup vocals when I perform my original music (and some cover songs too) at various bars, cafes, backyard parties, etc in the orange county area.
As my backup singer you'll be singing backup vocals with me during live shows, and adding to the overall atmosphere by interacting with me and the audience between songs. You'll need to be willing to help promote shows with me, through the internet or occasionally handing out fliers. Rehearsals probably won't be too demanding, just a few here and there to keep on track, but for the most part I already have the backup parts recorded so you can practice to a CD on your own. [...]
So I'm sitting here mixing music in my headphones, then I look up to see part of a Julia Roberts chick-flick. It seems to be a touching scene where her and a guy seem to be reconciling their differences. Soft romantic music is playing and they sit on a bed under the moonlight. I decide to watch for a second with music playing lightly into my headphones.
All of the sudden, the man gently caresses her face and I hear him grufly and slowly whisper the word "drugs...", and I burst into insane laughter.
Just a quick news update - the first day of shooting for Mike's music video for his original song, "Wasting All My Time" is complete. Shooting and post-production should wrap hopefully within the next month or so, at which point the cast and crew will be hosting a "wrap" party, where fans will be able to preview the new video and put copies of it onto their ipods and cellphones!
Well its about 48 hours after the first day of shooting for my music video. In case you didn't know, its for my original song, "Wasting All My Time". We're doing an all-new remixed version with drums/bass/strings/guitar, but you can find the original acoustic version on my main website (www.MikePeralta.com) as a free download. If you haven't heard it yet, go check it out. Its a song about lost love, or maybe love that was never meant to be in the first place, and the sadness/struggle one goes through in realizing this and moving on.
Bradley Gaurano has taken on the task of directing this music video, of elaborating on this song by adding his own creative vision to it through video, and turning it into a new piece of art. [...]
After much thought I've made the huge decision to offer ALL of my music for downloading, for FREE. Why would I do this? I'm tired of the idea that I have to nickle and dime everyone just to spread my music to the world. If you want a copy of my music, you will now find it on the "Free Music" page.
So far I've posted every single track from my acoustic album "Music of My Youth", as well as a few other ones that are in the works. I'll be posting new mixes as they become available, too. [...]
More photos will be coming in the near future. Today I had a photoshoot with Jake Chiu from www.PhotoProUnlimited.com and took over 250 photos. Jake is an utter professional with a good mind for good shots. Look out for more photos from today's session appearing on the site soon.
